Transitions Fund 2020

Hidden Leaf is happy to announce a new “Transitions Fund,” starting in January 2020, for transition-related requests from current Hidden Leaf grantees who are taking a transformative approach to organizational or leadership transitions.

Hidden Leaf recognizes that transitions are a healthy part of organizational development and are critical to the growth and expansion of movements. And we note that our foundation’s values around progressive movement building are particularly applicable to transitions; we believe there is an important role for mindfulness in approaching, honoring, and implementing strong transitions. By offering funds for healthy transitions, Hidden Leaf hopes to signal our broad support of the field. Further, we intend to signal to our peers in philanthropy that transitions are not a moment to fall back on caution, but a time to step in.

Grant requests will be applicable to: search processes, high-level leadership transitions, exit and on-boarding work, and preparing whole organizations and their ecosystem for changes. We will support transitions that embody and commit to a clear transformative approach.

Current grantees who are interested, please contact Program Coordinator Jenny George with a brief description of your organization’s transition plan, anticipated timeline, and how you are taking a transformative approach. Transition Funds grants will be made on a rolling basis throughout 2020 and will likely be in the range of $10,000 – $30,000 each.
